Negative 6-month return with ROCE above 20%

Price down over the trailing six months while return on capital employed exceeds 20%.

This screen combines a price condition with an operating one: the adjusted share price is lower than six months ago, and return on capital employed over the trailing twelve months is above 20%.

The two conditions measure different periods and different things. A price change reflects market trading; ROCE reflects reported operating profit against the debt and equity funding the business.

How to read this table

  • The six-month return is shown and the table is ordered from the largest fall upwards.
  • ROCE is trailing twelve months of EBIT over average capital employed, so it can lag a recent change in profit.
  • A price fall has many possible explanations, including a market-wide move, a sector event or a one-time item; the screen shows only that it happened.
